ARCHICAD:
01. Open your Archicad project.
02. First check that all linked (hotlinked) models included into the currently open project (host) have been updated. For this, from the Floor Plan, Detail or Worksheet window, use File >> External Content >> Hotlink Manager.

03. Select your hotlink sources and clic on Update.
04. Now simply go to File >> Save as... and save (export yous project as .IFC file.

05. Done !! Your can see that all your linked models appear into your new IFC document.
REVIT:
01. Open your Revit project.
02. Select your linked Revit model (highlighted blue when selected). Then on the top right clic Modify | RVT Links >> Bind Link.

03. Check Attached Details and/or Levels and/or Grid and click OK. For this example, I will only select Attached Details.

04. Select the model group you just created and ungroup it.


05. Repeat 2 + 3 + 4 for every linked model included into your hosting project.
06. You can now export your model : R >> Export >> IFC. You previously need to download and install the IFC 20** Exporter plugin extension from apps.autodesk.com (updated every year).


07. If you directly export your opened project without doing previous steps, your opened project will simply be exported without your linked models…
